Grammar and Punctuation Week 6

Verbs - Action in Progress

The present tense can be formed by combining the main verb with an

auxiliary verb or ‘helper verb’, such as: I am looking at a book. They are walking the dog.

The present progressive tense is used to show continuing action,

something going on now.

The past progressive tense shows continuous action in the past.

I was looking at the book. They were walking the dog.
