Structure of the Day
Throughout the day, the children have opportunities for both adult led and child initiated play both indoors and outdoors.
Our general daily routine is outlined below:
8.30 – 8.45 a.m. | Child initiated play |
8.45 – 9.10 a.m. | Register and carpet time (Teacher led learning) |
9.10 – 9.50 a.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks indoors & outdoors |
9.50 – 10.05 a.m. | Small group time Foundations for Phonics/Maths |
10.05 – 10.20 a.m. | Milk, snack and story time |
10.20 – 11.00 a.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks indoors & outdoors |
11.00 – 11.15 a.m. | Physical Development/ Communication & Language whole class focus |
11.15 – 11.25 a.m. | Songs/Story time |
11.30 – 12.30 p.m | Home time/Lunch time & Outdoor play |
12.30 – 12.45 p.m. | Child initiated play |
12.45 – 1.10 p.m. | Register and carpet time (Teacher led learning) |
1.10 – 1.40 p.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks indoors & outdoors |
1.40 – 1.55 p.m. | Small group time Foundations for Phonics/Maths/ Communication & Language/ Physical Development |
1.55 – 2.10 p.m. | Milk, snack and story time |
2.10 – 2.40 p.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks indoors & outdoors |
2.40 – 2.50 p.m. | Tidy up time |
2.50 – 3.05 p.m | Physical Development/ Communication & Language whole class focus |
3.05 – 3.15 p.m. | Songs/Story time |
3.20 – 3.30 p.m | Prepare for home time. |
PE and library sessions are also planned in weekly.
