Structure of the Day
Throughout the day, the children have opportunities for both adult led and child initiated play both indoors and outdoors.
Our general daily routine is outlined below:
8.45 – 9.00 a.m. | Register and morning job. |
9.00 – 9.30 a.m. | Phonics. |
9.30 – 10.25 a.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks |
10.30 – 10.45 a.m. | Play time |
10.45 – 11.00 a.m. | Snack and story time |
11.00 – 11.20 a.m. | Carpet time (teacher led learning – literacy) |
11.20 – 11.45 a.m. | Child initiated play |
11.45 – 12.00 a.m. | Handwriting |
12.00 – 1.00 p.m. | Lunch time and outdoor play |
1.00 – 1.10 p.m. | Register and calming time |
1.10 – 1.30 p.m. | Carpet time (Teacher led learning – maths) |
1.30 – 2.20 p.m. | Child initiated play and adult led tasks (indoors / outdoors) |
2.20 – 2.30 p.m. | Tidy up |
2.30 – 2.45 p.m. | Carpet time (Teacher led learning) |
2.45 – 3.00 p.m. | Story time |
3.00 – 3.10 p.m. | Prepare for home time. |
PE, PSHE, music and forest school sessions are also planned in weekly.
