Our pupils are growing up in a world where they interact with the internet and other communications technologies such as mobile phones and tablets on a daily basis. There are many benefits of being online: developing social interactions, accessing homework support and learning new skills through coding and gaming. However, this can place young people in danger when not used under supervision and without the knowledge and skills they need to keep themselves and others safe. Online Safety comprises all aspects relating to children and young people and their safe use of the Internet, mobile phones and other technologies, both in and out of school. We teach pupils about the importance of Online Safety across various curriculum areas: Computing, PSHE and in assemblies and workshops throughout the year. Spring Gardens Primary School is committed to ensuring that our young people are equipped with the knowledge they need to be evaluative and analytical users of technology while being aware of how to keep themselves and others safe both in and out of school.
